Boise Murder Leads to Life Imprisonment

The mother of a girl killed in a Boise murder can finally rest easy, having received justice after three years. After a five-hour hearing, a three-year-old pending case where a man killed a 3-year-old girl Ruya Kadir on her birthday and stabbed nine other people was given life imprisonment without parole.

The Boise man, Timmy Kinner Jr., will spend 120 total years in prison for the Boise murder and other crimes he committed in June 2018. The 4th Judge, Nancy Baskin, declared two consecutive life sentences to him.

The agonizing court hearing heard the testimony of various victims from the day of horror. Bifituu Kadir, Ruya’s mother, addressed with the help of a translator and said, ‘I Wish he killed me instead.’ She also said that if she outlived Kinner, she would spit on his grave when he gets buried.

In the testimony, the prosecutors played a call recording of the then 9-year-old boy who was one of those nine people Kinner stabbed. “I’m hurt in my belly; he stabbed me,” said he on the call with the 911 dispatcher.

“I hate that this situation occurred. I’m so sorry for the pain I’ve caused.” were the repeated words Kinner said in the court on Thursday.

According to the defense attorney, David Smethers, Kinner was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia when he committed the crime. He also said, “He will never leave ISCI (Idaho State Correctional Institute) for the rest of his life,”

The incident originally took place on June 30, 2018, in an apartment complex located on State Street, Wyne Lane. The place was the home to refugees that have escaped violence in their respective home countries. Kinner was the resident of the place as well.

Since his arrest in 2018, Kinner has been in Ada County Jail with the exception of staying in state prison for his mental health treatment. He will now be shifted to the Idaho Department of Correction and will remain there for life imprisonment.
