Good Samaritan Hit by Drunken Driver in East Idaho

A Good Samaritan was injured in a crash which involved a driver who was under the influence. The victim was helping out another man at the time the collision occurred.

According to the details shared by the Idaho State Police, the incident occurred close to the Lava Hot Springs. It came about when a driver somehow crashed his vehicle along a rural road. Another man then stopped by to help out the driver.

It was then that another vehicle came along the road and hit the Good Samaritan. The victim sustained injuries and was then transported to the Portneuf Medical Center. The vehicle that hit the victim was identified as a 2007 Local Navigator. The incident occurred early in the morning and was reported to the authorities at around 2 a.m. The rural road on which it took place was identified as South Dempsey Cree Road.

ISP didn’t share the exact nature or extent of the victim’s injuries. However, the troopers have confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening.

The driver who collided with the victim remained largely safe and didn’t have any notable injuries to report. ISP investigated the driver in the wake of the crash and found that the driver was driving his vehicle under the influence. Given these findings, he was charged with aggravated DUI for the injuries caused by his DUI incident.

ISP continues to investigate the incident. The DUI charges against the suspect will be substantiated once lab results return the reports on his blood alcohol level. If the level is found above the legal limits, the suspect driver may face stiff penalties.
