Idaho Governor Sends Troops To Arizona Border To Fight Off Illegal Drug Flow

Idaho Governor Brad Little, declared that he would be employing a team of 5 Idaho State Police troopers along the border of Arizona on a 21-day mission. The United States-Mexico border, which has been experiencing an alarming increase in the flow of illegal drugs after the Biden-Harris administration program’s failed immigration policies, will now be strictly monitored for any unlawful activity.

Idaho Governor Little says that since Biden took up office, many Trump policies were reversed, resulting the highest drug flow rate in 21 years. He says, “It is now up to the nation’s governors to protect Americans as the Biden-Harris administration won’t.”

The nation’s governors received a letter from Texas Governor Gregg Abbott and Arizona governor Doug Ducey asking for the employment of manpower along the borders, to which governor Little immediately responded positively. He saw to it that the IOEM, Idaho office of emergency management and the ISP work hand in hand with the state of Arizona to protect the borders. This leads to an Emergency Mutual Aid Compact (EMAC), which Idaho will comply with and help Arizona.

This mission with the 5 ISP troopers will commence on July 6th and will last for 21 days. This team will work with Arizona state police in investigating and gathering intelligence on the drug trials. They will act under the same authority given to the Arizona state police. This whole ordeal has cost the state of Idaho around $ 53,000 in travel and around $37,000 on personnel and other charges.

Governor Little says that this team will help stop drug smuggling and organized crime and that this mission will give the troopers a valuable hands-on training experience and help in increasing their abilities.

The Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Iowa governor Kim Reynolds, and the Nebraska governor Pete Ricketts have joined hands with governor little as he hopes to “continue evaluating the resources and the Border States’ needs to determine if we can do more to help in the fight against Biden-Harris administration.”
