Police Claim ‘E.T.’ star Tried to Fake Urine Sample After DUI Arrest

A Tualatin Police Department report says Henry Thomas, who is known for his role in “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” tried to give police fake urine after he was arrested for DUI in Oregon back in October.

Police claim the 49-year-old actor attempted to use toilet water in an effort to pass his blood-alcohol test. Thomas reportedly refused to take field sobriety and breathalyzer tests when he was pulled over, so he was taken to the station.

The actor was placed in a holding cell and a urine sample was requested. Police say Thomas asked to use the toilet and when the officer turned his back, he collected water rather than urine.

The report said the sample was clear, “not warm” and filled to the brim. Thomas denied tampering with the urine sample.

In late October, officers received a 911 call concerning a suspicious vehicle that was parked in a lane designated for travel. When they arrived, they found Thomas passed out behind the wheel and reportedly tried to wake him.

The department’s public information officer Jennifer Massey said the officers noticed signs of intoxication and they took Thomas to Washington County Jail. The actor was charged with a misdemeanor DUI.

In November, Thomas reportedly accepted a plea deal which would allow him to avoid jail time. He pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and reckless driving.

It was revealed that Thomas agreed to enter a diversion program for one year and pay a $500 fine. He would also have to attend a single victim impact panel and have his vehicle outfitted with an ignition interlock device to prevent further DUI incidents. He also had to pay a $500 fine.
